About Our Club
The RSL Fishing Club has been in existence for over 50 years. It has been proud to provide a recreational activity to club members and the community of Redlands. The club encourages members, guests, and anglers to include their children and grandchildren in club activities.
MEMBERS
The Club has a family focus and looks for opportunities to encourage juniors. There will always be a mix of younger anglers and crusty old salts who are expert fishers and happy to mentor the younger or less experienced anglers. We encourage members and guests to participate in the fishing and social events and assist with fundraising, working bees, etc. Persons wishing to join the fishing club must be current members of the Redlands RSL.
FISHING COMPETITIONS
The club now has two Fishing comps, one midweek which competes twice monthly from Tuesdays to Thursdays and our new Monthly Photo fishing comp running from the 1st of the month to the end of the month all year with varying target species. Our fishing boundaries are restricted to between Tweed River and the Noosa River. The Club may also host “Beach” and “Freshwater” trips separate from the scheduled fishing calendar.
THE "HUTS"
The “Huts” are a facility on Stradbroke Island accessed by boat only, providing a base for fishing and overnight accommodation. The huts provide comfortable sleeping quarters, hot/cold showers, 240-volt power, and an environmental toilet. This facility is unique to our fishing club and is free for use by members and families.
MEETINGS
General Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6.30 pm in the Redlands RSL Meeting Room. Prospective members and guests are always welcome.
